The two historic Tuscan companies join forces to make a contribution to the food supply chain by offering 200 meals for fragile Florence and invite others to replicate the initiative.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>

A gesture of solidarity and social commitment that, it is hoped, will become “contagious” among those in the restaurant industry. This is the origin of the idea of Tenute Piccini and Il Santo Bevitore, a historic Florentine restaurant, to offer 50 meals for every Sunday in December, and particularly on Christmas Day, to those Florentine families facing a new situation of need. <\/strong><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

“The pandemic has exposed many families to moments of deep hardship,” explains Mario Piccini, CEO of Tenute Piccini and co-creator of the project, “with this initiative we want to give support to all those people who are facing the holidays in a condition of need they have never faced before and who, for this very reason, do not have the possibility of receiving help from voluntary associations already present in the area: we want to involve and stimulate others to do the same, to make this Christmas a little less difficult for those who are living situations of deep uncertainty.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>

“This is a gesture of solidarity aimed at the new social fragilities,” continue Il Santo Bevitore partners Marco and Martina Baldesi and Stefano Sebastiani, “but it also represents a small act of resilience that involves the entire restaurant supply chain since it involves local production and the hours of our employees. We hope it can be replicated by others.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Thanks to the support of the City of Florence, in collaboration with the most significant voluntary associations in the area, families to whom the meals were destined were identified: “Tenute Piccini and Il Santo Bevitore are making a commendable gesture of solidarity toward fragile Florentine families who are among those most affected by the crisis generated by this health emergency.”<\/strong> <\/em>Florence City Councilor for Welfare Sara Funaro concludes, “We should be proud of our community, which once again has shown that it has a big heart of solidarity and is close to those who need it most.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>
