The Cantina Porta Rossa brand joins the product portfolio of the Italian wine family along with the historical archive, consisting of past vintages, in a much-desired acquisition because of the centrality of the territory and the value it represents.<\/strong><\/p>

Castellina in Chianti, April X, 2022 – After a 2021 closed in growth and with a turnover of about 100 million euros, Piccini 1882 is embarking on a new project that focuses on the Langhe, a prestigious and vocated territory where the Piccini are determined to perpetuate the history of the “Porta Rossa” brand by taking over its reins.<\/strong><\/p>

“For 140 years, as a wine family, we have set ourselves the ambitious goal of telling the story of wine Italy through its excellences,” says Mario Piccini, patron of Piccini 1882. “From today, Piccini 1882’s vast oenological horizon embraces the hills of Piedmont, respecting its production philosophy that exalts the close bond between wines and their place of origin. It is impossible not to talk about Langhe, and we have decided to do so through a brand that represents the excellence produced among the hills of Alba, as Barolo Porta Rossa can be, for example. The acquisition, in fact, also includes labels of old vintages.”<\/strong><\/p>

Over the years, “Porta Rossa,” thanks to the work of winemaker Pierfranco Bonaventura, has become an international brand, making the winery one of the benchmarks for Langhe wines. “We put our experience at the service of tradition,” Bonaventura stresses, “reserving maniacal attention to the raw material and its processing in our cellars. Our goal is to enhance and interpret the territory, which is why our wines are aged exclusively in large barrels. Enhancement and interpretation of the territory are two stylistic figures that are also representative of Piccini 1882, which has every intention of giving continuity to the work done so far by highlighting the excellence that the “Porta Rossa” brand represents.<\/strong><\/p>

The Piccini family already boasts five estates scattered between central and southern Italy, covering more than 200 hectares of vineyards from Chianti Classico to Maremma to the volcanic territories of Vulture and Etna: Fattoria di Valiano in Chianti Classico; Tenuta Moraia in Maremma; Villa al Cortile in Montalcino; Regio Cantina in Basilicata; and Torre Mora in Sicily.
